JohnCon '98

This is a Baltimore con, at Johns Hopkins University: 48 hours of gaming, gaming, gaming!
This, the first year I went, however, I only got in, ran Hacker, and left, all on Friday evening. My first game had 6 players, so I sat out, and they seemed to have a good time trying to log on, acting out their self-invented roles, and phreaking, so the fact that I kept wanting them to play cut-throat style probably says more about me than them or the game. People seemed to enjoy the geek jokes, and 2 people said they wanted to buy it (unfortunately, it's out of print, though you can still buy the supplement). The guy who could have won solo let everyone phreak at the end of his turn, so there was a shared victory -- I gave a MIB-supplied prize (an INWO book) to the one with the 2nd most systems (the winner already had the book). After that, some of them cleared out and another person sat down, and I got to play for the 2nd game, which lasted another couple hours.

At other JohnCons I've attended, I've dived in much more deeply (many games besides Hacker), so here are their write-ups:
